Back To School Event Huge Success! Reec Treats The City

Sunday July 26th the Fair Oaks Park community was “treated’ to free BBQ, entertainment and stuffed book bags just in time for back to school! Hot 107.9’s REEC has been visiting different Metro Atlanta Neighborhoods and throwing free Block Parties and BBQ’s.

These events are called Reec Treats The City. The sentiment behind the events are to give communities something free and positive to do, that builds fellowship, networking and bridges the age gap between residents. It also give the community a chance to meet local celebs who don’t mind giving back! This edition not only included Free BBQ provided by Positive American Youth ( but also gave participants a chance to meet budding stars Scotty ATL, Mannish Mania and Atlantic Recording Artist Michael Star. The event was hosted by non other than Reec and music provided by Fleet DJs own DJ Deceptacon.

Free BBQ, Book Bags, Karate Demonstrations, Step Exhibitions, hair cuts and more! This was definitely a must attend!

Special thanks to the  National Pan-Hellenic Council, Incorporated (NPHC). They provided the majority of the school supplies, book bags and more! The National Pan-Hellenic Council, Incorporated (NPHC) is currently composed of nine (9) International Greek letter Sororities and Fraternities:  Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Delta Sigma Theta, Phi Beta Sigma, Zeta Phi Beta, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Iota Phi Theta.  The mission of the NPHC is to ensure excellence of our members and community through education, collaboration and advocacy.
